KhlaSiKo: The Traditional Khmer Board Game
KhlaSiKo (ខ្លាសុីគោ) is a digital adaptation of the ancient Khmer game of Tigers and Cows, a traditional two-player board game from Cambodia. Played on a 4 x 4 grid, the game features an uneven distribution of pieces, with four tigers and twelve cows. Players engage in strategic moves to outmaneuver their opponent, with the cows starting first in the initial phase of play.
The game unfolds in two distinct phases. Initially, only the tigers can move, while cows are placed on the board. Once all cows are positioned, the second phase allows both tigers and cows to move. The objective for the cows is to immobilize the tigers, whereas the tigers aim to capture all cows or restrict their movement. The game offers a blend of strategy and tactical thinking, making it an engaging experience for players of all ages.
